Recently Brickhouse, launched a new menu. A few weeks ago, I was invited to their tasting session. This was my first visit to Brickhouse, and I would definitely go back again. This super cool mexican restaurant is hidden in an alley way at Lan Kwai Fong in Central, Hong Kong. It has a very edgy, street style atmosphere, with graffiti and stickers on the wall, loud music and friendly staff. I love the rustic food presentation too. It´s a great place to hang out for a few drinks and some food.
Nachos with salsa and guacamole dip
The night kicked off with a margarita, along with some nachos and some of my favourite dips, salsa and guacamole.
Mexican-Street Style Corn / Tuna (Tastadas)
That night we had so much food on the table, it felt like the whole menu was right in front of me. Because we had so much, I have to be quite honest I can´t really remember some of the things I had. But I really enjoyed it all and some of my favourites included:
Mexican-Street Style Corn - (Corn on the cob, with chili, mayo lime and queso)
DIY Bone Marrow Tacos - (Oxtail salsa, chimichurri, epazote roasted tomatoes, pungent herb salad and corn tortillas)
Watermelon Salad - (Watermelon, lemon cucumber, goat feta, chili syrup, mint and candied pepitas)
Home Beet Fries - (Deep fried roasted beetroots, sweet chili aioli and green onions)
Chili Spiked Chocolate Cake - (Gluten free, caramelized raspberries and vanilla ice-cream)
Coconut Rice Tamale - (Coconut rice pudding, goats milk caramel and mezcal ice cream)
Watermelon Salad / Casa Salad
Everything I mentioned above, was so good. It´s a must try.
Chili Spiked Chocolate Cake
Brickhouse is definitely worth checking out. Even if you´re not going there for food, you could just hang out for a few drinks and have some fun. I can´t wait to go back again for some amazing mexican food and cocktails.
