I have always considered houndstooth a stodgy old-school textile until this winter. You can see it appearing in so many different forms, ranging from masculine styling to minis, large and bold, to small and subtle. It was the woven pattern of the 2013 season. In this post we are going for a more feminine approach – featuring the pattern on a flirty silhouette.
Can you guess where these pictures were taken? I bet you would have never guessed this is actually a Starbucks. This is their second concept store located on Sai Yee Street. It’s centered around old Hong Kong, aka the Hollywood of the East. The store sports vintage elements such as an old weighing machine of the kind that used to be common in cinema flyers, a wall made of mahjong tiles that reads ‘good movie upstairs’ and graffiti inspired by the ‘King of Kowloon’ street artist Tsang Tsou-choi. We have featured some of these vintage element in the photos – mixing old Hong Kong with the modern houndstooth.
